The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main February 1 exam was held today in two shifts. The first shift concluded at 12 noon and the second shift at 6 pm. According to students' reactions and expert analysis, the JEE Main exam for shift 1 held in the morning shift today had moderate paper with equal weightage to Class 11 and Class 12 board exam syllabus.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced the JEE Main 2023 result date yet. The JEE Main 2023 April session registrations will be available from February 7 to March 7 at JEE Main official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2023 April session exam will be held from April 6 to 12, 2023.
The JEE Main 2023 cut-off will be announced along with the IIT JEE result and all India ranks. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2023 exam. The JEE advanced exam will be held on June 4, 2023. The JEE Advanced 2023 exam registrations will be open from April 10 to May 5, 2023.

According to FIITJEE Noida, the weightage of chapters and difficulty level of mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects is as follows:
- Mathematics – Moderately tough level. Weightage was given to chapters of Algebra and Coordinate Geometry. Questions asked from Parabola, Ellipse, Definite Integrals, Area, Matrices, Probability, Statistics, Permutation and Combination, Determinants, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Complex numbers, Progression Series. Both Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and numerical-based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was lengthy and tricky as per a few students.
- Physics – Easy level. Weightage given to chapters of Kinematics, Rotational Motion, SHM and Waves, Gravitation, Heat and Thermodynamics, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, AC Circuits, Modern Physics, Communication Systems, Semi-Conductors. Numerical-based questions were reported as easy. This section was balanced overall.
- Chemistry – Moderate Level. Physical Chemistry was given less weightage as compared to Organic and Inorganic chemistry. Questions asked from Qualitative Analysis. d and f Block elements, Quantitative Analysis of Compounds, Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life, Biomolecules, Hydrocarbons, Amines, Ethers and Phenols, Aryl and Alkyl halides , Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics. MCQs were tricky compared to the numerical section.

JEE Main 2023 analysis January 31: Immediate reaction from students after the exam
- The reporting time for students was 8:20 am however the exam started sharp at 9 am.
- Students were not allowed to carry anything inside the examination hall except a transparent ballpoint pen, admit card and aadhar card.
- All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for the safety of the exam takers.
- Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever.
- Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at entry.
- Metal detectors were used at the entry gate and no bags or wristwatches were allowed inside.
- Students reported that entry started as soon as they were screened at the entry point.
- Time clock on the computer screen was provided inside the examination hall.
