The JEE Main paper 1 had both multiple-choice questions and numerical questions. Students were allowed to attempt five out of the 10 questions in section B. Mathematics was tough and lengthy, physics was reported to be easy, while the chemistry section was easy to moderate in difficulty level.
Students found the evening shift of JEE Main 2024 April 4 exam to be easier as compared to the morning shift and session 1 papers. The mathematics and physics section had formula-based questions while the chemistry section included mostly theory-based questions.
Students said that more weightage was given to theory-based questions in all subjects and there were a few assertion and reason-based questions from Class 12 NCERT textbooks.
