NEW DELHI: The first shift of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 April 7 was overall moderate with lengthy and calculative mathematics, as per students’ reactions and expert analysis. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the JEE Main 2025 session 2 day 4 shift 1 today from 9 am to 12 noon. JEE Main 2025 April 7 exam live updates.

The physics section in JEE Main 2025 April 7 shift 1 was easy to moderate. No questions were asked from fluid mechanics. Initially, candidates said that physics was tough and they could only attempt 15 questions or so.

Students rated chemistry hard with more weightage to physical. Even in organic questions, there were physical concepts. The math section was lengthy as compared to the previous shifts but easy.

JEE Main 2025 April 7 shift 1 paper analysis: Difficulty level, topics asked

Here’s section-wise difficulty level of JEE Mains 2025 April 7 shift 1 exam along with memory-based questions and topics asked:

Physics

The physics section in the JEE Main paper today was moderate in difficulty, compared to other shifts in the April session. It was easier than physics in some shifts but relatively tougher than chemistry. The paper showed similarity to the physics section of the JEE Main 2025 April 4 morning shift and both shifts of April 3.

Questions were asked from the following topics:

  • 2-3 questions from Modern Physics
  • 1 question from Current Electricity
  • 2 questions from Ray Optics
  • 1 question from Work, Energy, and Power
  • 1 question from Rotational Motion
  • 1 question from Elasticity Concept
  • 1 question from Semiconductors based on Zener Diode
  • 1 question from Newton’s Laws of Motion (NLM) chapter based on friction
  • 2 questions from Center of Mass (COM) involving a road scenario

Chemistry

The difficulty level of the chemistry section was moderate to hard. Slightly tough compared to the January session and last year, the section was also found lengthy. More weightage was given to physical chemistry than inorganic and organic chemistry.

Questions were asked on the following topics:

  • 1 question from solutions
  • 1 question from mole concept
  • 1 question from diazotization
  • 1 question from biomolecules
  • 2 questions from coordination coordination
  • 1 question periodic
  • 1 question from PH value
  • 1 question from chemical equilibrium

Mathematics

While the mathematics section in JEE Main 2025 April 7 shift 1 question paper measured ‘easy to moderate’ on the thermometer of difficulty, it was relatively easier compared to the chemistry and physics section. Overall the section was more lengthy as compared to the April 2, 3, and 4 exams. Moreover, it reflected the same difficulty level as that of January session and last year’s exam.

Questions were asked from the following topics:

  • 3 questions from the conic section (one question from hyperbola and another from parabola)
  • 1 question from the determinant mixed with circle
  • 4 questions from Vector 3D
  • 1 question from definite integration
  • 2 questions from straight line and circle
  • 1 question from permutation and combination
