Candidates belonging to the General and OBC-NCL categories must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in their Class 12 board exams or be placed in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.

One of the newest NITs, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh saw a drop in JEE Main cut-offs for the major BTech programmes such as computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, civil engineering, and mechanical engineering. The JEE Main closing rank for BTech CSE at NIT AP was 14707.

The JEE Main cut-offs for the EWS seats in BTech Computer Science Engineering at NITs were high for candidates of other states last year.
