From entry to exit: This is how NTA will conduct JEE Main 2025

NEW DELHI: Around 12 lakh engineering aspirants will be appearing for the national-level engineering entrance, JEE Main 2025, commencing today. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the entry gates soon for the January 22 shift 1 Joint Entrance Examination. All students are required to carry the JEE Main admit card 2025 along with the self-declaration form to the exam centre. Candidates appearing for the entrance exam will also have to follow the JEE Main dress code, as those not complying with the rules will not be allowed entry.

JEE Main dress code 2025

Although the NTA has not issued a detailed dress code for male and female candidates, they are not allowed to wear any heavy dresses, any other metallic items, cap, or scarfs. Candidates are also not allowed to wear shoes or anything that covers the feet. Wearing mehendi or any other tattoo, or jewellery is not permitted.

There is no hard and fast rule about wearing jeans and tshirts. However, it is better to avoid wearing full sleeve shirts and tops.

JEE Main 2025: Timeline of events

The JEE Main detailed exam schedule for session 1 is given below.

7 am - The JEE Main exam centres will open the entry gates.

7 am to 8:30 am - The NTA will allow entry inside the exam hall. Candidates will have to go through the admit card, and photo ID verification process, biometric registration, record of manual attendance by invigilator.

They are required to provide one passport size photograph, same as the one uploaded in the JEE Main application form 2025. One passport size photograph will be pasted on the attendance sheet at the centre. Photocopies or images stored in mobile phones will not be accepted.

Candidates will be allowed to carry the documents, transparent bottle and ball point pen inside the exam hall.

8.30 am to 8.50 am - Instructions will be given by the invigilators on the conduct of the exam. Students are required to find their roll number and get seated on time.

8.50 am - Candidates will be allowed to log in to the JEE Main exam and read instructions.

9 am to 12 noon - The JEE Main January shift 1 exam will commence and end at 12 noon.
