For last several years, the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main) is being conducted for a duration of three hours. While JEE Main paper 1 (BE, BTech), paper 2A (BArch), and paper 2B (BPlan) are held for three hours only, candidates who choose both paper 2A and 2B will get three hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.

NTA has announced a major change in JEE Main 2025 exam pattern. According to the JEE Main new pattern, optional questions have been removed from section B of all the sections. Therefore, all questions will be mandatory for the candidates to attempt and they will not get to select from a certain number of questions anymore. JEE Main question paper comprises two sections.

A total of 9,24,636 common candidates registered for paper 1 in JEE Main 2024 exam. 12,21,624 applied for JEE Main session 1 and 11,79,569 submitted application forms for session 2 exam. 14.76 lakh was the number of unique candidates in both sessions.
