NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the deadline to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 is November 22, 2024, with no further extension. Eligible candidates can register for the JEE Mains 2025 through the new official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The IIT JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted in two sessions for admission to BE and BTech programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other participating institutions.

As per the JEE Main 2025 notification, Session 1 for Paper 1 is tentatively scheduled from January 22 to January 31, while Session 2 is likely to be held from April 1 to April 8.

Candidates who successfully apply for the JEE Main 2025 will have a chance to make corrections to their application form between November 26 and 27, 2024. During the JEE Main form correction, candidates can modify their personal details, educational details, exam city preferences and more.

JEE Mains 2025 Registration: Documents required

Candidates can check the list of documents required for JEE Mains registration below:

  • Identity proof (Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, driver's license)

  • Class 10 marksheet

  • Class 12 marksheet, passing certificate

  • Recent passport-sized photograph

  • Scanned signature

  • Category certificate (if applicable)

  • PwD certificate (if applicable)

  • Valid email ID and mobile number

  • Bank details for fee payment

The changes allowed in the JEE Main 2025 application form include the candidate's name, father's name, mother's name, class 10 details, class 12 details, PAN card number, examination cities (based on permanent and present addresses, though NTA is not bound by the choices), examination city selection, medium of the examination, date of birth, gender, category, sub-category, PwD status, and signature.

JEE Main 2025 Live: Marking Scheme for JEE Main Paper

The marking scheme for JEE Main Paper 1 is as follows: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) award +4 marks for each correct answer, while -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. For Numerical Questions, candidates receive +4 marks for each correct response. The examination has a duration of 3 hours, extending to 4 hours for candidates with disabilities.

JEE main 2025 Registration: Documents required

To register for JEE Main 2025, candidates must upload the following documents in the specified format:

  • The recent photograph should be in either colour or black and white, with 80% of the face (without a mask) visible, including the ears, against a white background.
  • Both the scanned photograph and signature must be in JPG or JPEG format and clearly legible.
  • The size of the scanned photograph should range from 10 KB to 200 KB.
  • The size of the scanned signature should range from 4 KB to 30 KB.
  • The scanned copy of the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) certificate should be in PDF format, between 50 KB and 300 KB, and clearly legible.
