NTA has removed the optional questions from section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam. Instead of selecting any five questions out of 10, candidates will now have to attempt all five. Additionally, there will be no question choices in any subject for both paper 1 and paper 2 of JEE Main 2025.

The JEE Main 2025 will be held in two shifts as follows: 

• Shift 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon
• Shift 2 will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam date. The authority will be conducting the exam from January 28 to 30. Candidates can check the schedule from below.

Candidates who are going to appear for the JEE Main 2025 exam tomorrow should note some important points given below.

• Please check all details correctly mentioned on the admit card such as Name, photograph, Signature and the details of the examination centre.

• If there is any discrepancy, immediately contact the NTA Help Line at 011-40759000 (Available from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM).

• Candidates must appear at the allotted exam centre on the specified date and shift/timing mentioned on their Admit Card.

• Read all instructions carefully on the Admit Card and follow them strictly during the examination.

Candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category will find it tough to grab a BTech Computer Science and Engineering seat at a National Institute of Technology (NIT) which doesn't fall in their state. The highest JEE Main rank an EWS candidate needed in order to secure a BTech CSE seat in an NIT in the last three years has been recorded at 170 at NIT Tiruchirappalli for candidates outside Tamil Nadu.

NTA has not removed any topic from the JEE Main 2025 syllabus. However, certain topics that were dropped in the previous years will no longer be included in the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exams. Check JEE Main deleted syllabus 2025 below. 

Mathematics: Mathematical Induction and mathematical reasoning units have been deleted.

Physics: In Physics, the communication device unit has been deleted from the JEE Main syllabus.

Chemistry: Surface chemistry, states of matter, general principles and processes of isolation of metals, s-block elements, hydrogen, environmental chemistry, alcohol phenol and ether, and polymers chapters have been removed.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented security measures to tighten security during the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 starting tomorrow, January 22. As a part of the security measures, NTA has taken the following steps: 

• Verification of identity card
• Submission of non-Aadhaar declaration by those who didn't apply through Aadhaar details
• Removal of mandatory COVID-19 self-declaration form from the requirements, as the health situation has improved.
• Mandatory for candidates to bring JEE Main admit card 2025 and valid ID proof
• CCTV monitoring

JEE Main 2025 aspirants seeking admission to computer science engineering at the top institutes will have to score 100 percentile in the exam. The JEE Main toppers last year went for BTech CSE seats at eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The JEE Main passing marks have been increasing for all categories over the previous years. The JEE Main cut-off for general category went up from 88.41 in 2022 to 90.78 in 2023 and further to 93.2362181 in 2024. Similarly, for reserved categories the JEE Main qualifying marks have shown an increasing cut-off trend. The JEE Main SC cut-off rose from 43.08 in 2022 to 51.98 in 2023 and then to 60.0923182 in 2024. Similarly, the JEE Main qualifying cut-off for ST category increased from 26.78 in 2022 to 37.23 in 2023 and 46.6975840 in 2024.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main cut-off for BTech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) increased last year at most of the institutes. The steps to reset your JEE password, in case forgotten, are as follows: 

• Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on login window
• Press on registered candidate link and look for ‘forgot password’
• Log in with the One-Time-Password (OTP) provided in email or mobile to proceed with a password change to the new one.
• The user will be redirected to step 2 to create the new password.
• One-Time-Password (OTP) will be the same in both steps.
