While the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not formally prescribed the JEE Main 2026 dress code, past sessions indicate certain clothing practices for smooth entry and security checks. Candidates should wear light and simple clothing to avoid delays during verification. Jackets, sweaters, and full-sleeved clothing are typically allowed, provided they do not have metal buttons, zippers, or large accessories that may require extra checking at the entry.
Candidates are also not allowed to carry geometry or pencil boxes, handbags, purses, papers, stationery, printed or written material, eatables and water, mobile phones, earphones, microphones, pagers, calculators, docupens, slide rules, log tables, watches—including electronic watches with calculator functions—metallic items, or other electronic gadgets into the examination hall.
The JEE Main 2026 will be conducted from January 21 to 29. The morning shift will run from 9 am to 12 pm, and the evening shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm. Candidates going to appear for the exam can download the JEE Main 2026 admit card through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
