The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the window to upload the mandatory photo verification certificate for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026 today. Candidates whose identity could not be verified during the application process due to non-Aadhaar registration or photograph mismatch can submit the document through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The documents required for the photo verification process for JEE Mains 2026 includes a signed and attested certificate, along with a recent photograph duly certified by their school principal.

Candidates need to submit the certificate in PDF format through the link sent to their registered email ID. Notably, they are required to show a printed copy of the same at the JEE Mains 2026 examination centre on exam day for physical verification.

Attestation from Gazetted officer

The testing agency, in its previous notification, said that certain JEE Mains 2026 candidates registered for the computer-based test using identity proof documents other than the Aadhaar card.

Moreover, some of the applicants’ live photographs captured during the application process did not match with the photographs as per records available with UIDAI. Hence, the NTA has provided such affected candidates with a last opportunity to verify their identity by uploading a signed and attested certificate, along with a recent photograph duly certified by their school principal.

“Considering the grievances received from candidates regarding non-accessibility of few verifying authorities, candidates are now permitted to obtain attestation from a Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM / Class-I Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates),” as per the official notification.

The NTA will conduct the college entrance test - JEE Mains 2026 - for admission to BTech, BArch and BPlanning programmes at government and private higher education institutions, from January 21 to 29 in dual shifts.

The forenoon shift will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm. The testing agency will conduct the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam from April 2 to 9.
