NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced the seat allotment result for the first round of Joint Entrance Lateral Engineering Test (JELET) counselling 2024 for lateral entry admissions into engineering programmes. Candidates can check JELET round 1 seat allotment result 2024 on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in.
As per the JELET counselling schedule, seat allotted students can pay the seat acceptance fee between October 8 and October 15. Candidates will have to report to the allotted institute for document verification and admission between October 13 and 15.
The seat acceptance fee is Rs 5,000. Upon making payment, students will be required to download the allotment order. “Failure to pay this fee will result in the cancellation of the current allotment, and the candidate will be excluded from future rounds,” the board had said.
JELET Counselling 2024: Documents required for admission
Candidates will be required to carry the following documents at the time of reporting:
- Provisional seat allotment letter and rank card
- Class 10 admit card/birth certificate for date of birth verification
- Mark sheets of all diploma/BSc semesters (if available)
- Unique allotment ID (available in candidate’s login), required by the admission officer
- Registered mobile phone for receiving OTP at the final stage of admission confirmation
- Domicile certificate for WB domicile candidates. Reserved category candidates can submit their category certificate instead, but if rejected, during verification, their domicile status will be converted to non-West Bengal.
- Category certificate
What after allotment?
Document verification can have the following outcomes:
Cancellation of allotment : If a candidate is found ineligible based on academic scores, category certificates, or other factors during document verification, the current allotment will be cancelled. Such candidates will be automatically reconsidered in the next round with their revised scores or category.
Upgradation : Upon successful document verification, candidates will choose whether they wish to opt for seat upgradation.
First-choice Allotment : Candidates who are allotted their first-choice seat must freeze their seat after successful verification, opting for no-upgradation, and complete the admission process.
Second choice allotment : Candidates allotted a seat of their second or later choices can choose no-upgradation after successful document verification and complete admission formalities.
Second choice allotment (Upgradation) : Candidates who are allotted a seat of their second or later choices can opt for upgradation after document verification and decline admission in the first round. They will then be considered for upgradation in the second round.
No upgradation : If, after successful verification, the candidate does not select either YES or NO for upgradation, they will be considered uninterested in admission (EXIT).
