JNVST 2025 Class 6 registration last date extended to September 23; eligibility, steps to apply

NEW DELHI: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST 2025) registration last date to September 23 for admission to Class 6. JNV selection test for Class 6 admission in JNVs for the academic session 2025-26 will be held in two phases on April 12 and April 18. Students will have to submit the JNVST application form 2025 through the official website, navodaya.gov.in.

Eligible students will also be able to apply online through the direct JNVST Class 6 admission form link at cbseitms.rcil.gov.in/nvs/. “There are 661 JNVs sanctioned across the country except the State of Tamil Nadu. No JNV has been sanctioned in 06 districts i.e. Central Delhi, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Mumbai Sub-Urban, which are having 100% urban population and not covered under JNV Scheme,” it said.

Additional JNVs sanctioned for the districts having large concentration of SC, ST population, it informed.

As per the eligibility criteria, only those students who are from the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission. For admission under rural quota, a student must have studied and passed Classes 2, 4, 5, 6 from government, government-aided, or any recognised school spending one full academic session each year.

A candidate who has studied in a school located in an urban area even for a single day of a session, in any of the classes 3-5, will be considered for admission in schools located in urban area.

JNVST Class 6 Registration: How to apply online?

Students can follow the step-by-step instructions to fill JNV Class 6 online application form.

  • Visit the JNVST official website, navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in/nvs/.
  • Select the “Click here Registration for Class VI JNVST (2025-26)” link under Class 6 admission.
  • Students will have to upload the certificate verified by the headmaster, photograph, signature of parent, signature of candidate, Aadhaar details or residence certificate issued by competent Government authority in JPG format with size between 10 to 100 kb.
  • Enter basic details such as state, district, block, Aadhaar number, PAN number.
  • Candidates from NIOS should obtain `B’ certificate and should be a bonafide resident of the same district where they are seeking admission.
  • Review the details entered and submit the online form.
  • Go back to the homepage, and click on the print online application form.
  • Download and print the registration form for future reference.
