NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on Sunday notified the top 20 percentile cut-off marks received from educational boards for admission to IITs and NITs through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. However, nine educational boards have not yet submitted details of top percentile marks in addition to other boards.

The JoSAA couselling 2023 is conducted for 118 institutes including 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 38 other technical institutes funded fully or partially by central or state governments.
As per the details provided by the boards, the Class 12 top 20 percentile cut-off marks out of 500 saw a dip for most boards compared to last year. Out of the 23 boards, 2 boards - Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have not submitted cut-off marks for NIT+ System. Of the total, 14 educational boards saw a dip in the top 20 percentile marks.

On the other hand, top 20 percentile students of 48 boards will be considered for IIT admission. As per the latest cut-off marks received from the major board, a total of 9 educational boards are yet to announce the top 20 percentile marks of students for both IIT and NIT+.
This year, the 75% criterion was relaxed for engineering aspirants. As per the revised rule, students who have secured 75% in Class 12 exams will be eligible for admission at IITs, NITs. Additionally, those students who have not scored 75% but are in the top 20 percentile in each board will also be eligible for IIT admission, it said.
Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (BIEAP) has the highest number of percentile cut-off of 471 out of total 500 marks, followed by Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) at 462 and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (CISCE) at 446 for NIT+ admissions.

The CBSE cut-off marks will be used for “OTHER boards” listed by JEE Apex Board 2023, the official notification read. And students belonging to those boards that does not provide cut-off of top 20 percentile, will have to produce a certificate stating the eligibility from their respective boards. The other boards that have not yet submitted the details of top percentile scores for IIT admission 2023 are given below.
