IIT Bombay's BTech CSE again top choice of JEE Advanced toppers 2025 for computer science engineering

Try NowThe Joint Seat Allocation Authority has declared the JoSAA seat allotment results 2025 for round 1 counselling. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) continues to be the top choice among JEE Advanced toppers for computer science engineering (CSE) this year as well, while IIT Delhi has retained its position as the second most preferred institute.
Candidates allotted a seat in round 1 of the JoSAA counselling 2025 are required to complete the fee payment and document uploading process before June 18 through the official website, josaa.nic.in.
For the open category, CSE admission to IIT Bombay opened at JEE Advanced AIR 1 and closed at rank 66. IIT Delhi’s JEE Advanced opening and closing rank ranged from 24 to 125. Among the top engineering colleges in India, IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur closed their round 1 counselling at rank 171 and 270 respectively. Computer Science Engineering (CSE) remains the most sought-after course in all IITs over the past several years.
In short, five IITs – IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Kharagpur – remain the top preference of the toppers. The newer IITs usually have attracted mid-lower rank holders. In the first round, the closing rank of IIT Bhilai and IIT Goa was at the lowest for computer science engineering (CSE).
