Use NowNEW DELHI: Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. The course, which is relatively new, prepares engineering aspirants in solving health science-related problems by combining engineering and medicine and developing new tools for healthcare sectors. The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) offers BTech in Biomedical Engineering.
Candidates who wish to pursue BTech in Biomedical Engineering should have appeared in both Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and Advanced and qualified the exam. BTech admission to IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling 2023. The registration for JoSAA counselling 2023 has already begun.
Besides, IIT Hyderabad, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong also offers biomedical engineering. The 4-year course will focus on core areas such as medical instrumentation and systems biology.
IIT Hyderabad introduced the first-ever Bachelor of Technnology program in Biomedical Engineering (BTech-BME) in the country. “The program offers several elective baskets to specialize in cutting edge areas such as healthcare data analytics, 3D bio-printing, medical optics and Imaging, nanomedicine, neurotechnology, biomechanics, neuromorphic engineering, medical data modeling and simulation,” IIT-H official website said.
