JoSAA Counselling Registrations to start on June 15

NEW DELHI, June 11: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced that the registrations for JoSAA counselling will start from June 15, 2018. The procedure for the joint counselling and seat allotment for admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will begin with registration and choice filling. JEE Main qualified candidates will be eligible for admissions into 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 GFTIs whereas JEE Advanced candidates will be able to apply for admissions in the 23 IITs. The registration and choice filling process will end on June 25, 2018 (5 pm). The seat allotment process will comprise of 7 rounds starting from June 27, 2018.

It is mandatory for the qualified candidates to register for the counselling process. Candidates are required to reconfirm a few basic details, viz. gender, state code of eligibility and nationality, and also provide their contact details. It is advisable for the candidates to check the eligibility criteria before registration. To accept the allotted seat, candidates will have to pay the confirmation fee and report at the reporting centre with the required documents for verification.

What are the steps for registration?

Candidates can refer to the below-listed steps of registration for JoSAA counselling.

Step 1- Online Registration

The candidates will have to log in to their account by entering JEE Main 2018 roll no and password. In case they have registered for JEE Advanced then the corresponding password has to be submitted. After logging in, the retrieved information has to be checked for any discrepancy. Change of password is a mandatory step. After checking all the information,“Submit Changes” has to be clicked.

Step 2 – Filling of Choices

After successful registration, a list of the various courses and colleges will be displayed on the screen. All of the available choices will be based on the eligibility of the candidate. After selecting the preferred choices, the candidates will be able to modify the order by selecting “Arrange Filled Choices”. The option of “Choices Rearrange” and “Choices Interchange” will also be available for the candidates. The selected options can also be deleted if required.

Step 3 – Locking of Choices

Following the choice filling, the candidates will be able to complete the process by clicking on “I agree to lock my choices”. In case the candidates wish to make some modifications later then they can click on “I will lock my choices later”. The candidates are advised to take a print out of the confirmed filled in choices for future reference.

What after JoSAA registration?

After the completion of registration and choice filling, seat allotment and rank list will be announced. Candidates can then avail the allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee. Candidates will be required to report at the reporting centre and the allotted Institute.

Key points to remember

  • The registration process is mandatory for any qualified candidate interested in joining any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs

  • Reporting centres will be open from 10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs.

  • Withdrawal option is not available after seat acceptance and document verification period of round 6 of seat allotment

  • Physical reporting at admitting institutes is mandatory for students who have accepted a seat in NITs, IIITs and Other GFTIs immediately after the 7th round of seat allocation
