NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 10: Vidyasaarathi has partnered with the JSW group to provide scholarships to students across India. Through this partnership, JSW Foundation aims to financially assist deserving students with scholarships and bridge the gap in education financing in India. Students pursuing their graduation, post-graduation, ITI, diploma and B. Ed courses can avail of JSW Foundation’s Udaan Scholarship schemes listed on the Vidyasaarathi web portal.
“We are firm in our conviction that only by enabling an educated nation; we can bring in a revolutionary change in the society. JSW Foundation takes conscious steps to support and empower students around JSW plant sites to avail of these scholarships” Mr. Ashwini Saxena, COO, JSW Foundation explained. “This partnership with NSDL e-Governance will enable us to identify deserving students and support their education and skill development” said Biswadip Gupta, CEO, JSW foundation.
Vidyasaarathi envisions simplifying the process of scholarship design, application and disbursement, thereby removing all administrative challenges faced by organizations to support education funding. Since its launch last year, Vidyasaarathi portal has successfully registered more than 1,85,000 students onto the portal, out of which 100,000 students have applied for scholarships.
Gagan Rai, CEO and MD, NSDL e-Governance said,” Higher education has now become a necessity and we are happy to partner with JSW Foundation in this endeavor. Though education is a basic requirement, many deserving students are still forced to miss out on their further studies due to increasing tuition fees and lack of resources. With this joint initiative, we will be able to provide support to the economically weaker sections of our society to achieve their dream.”
