Karnataka School Education Department invites applications for 900 general teacher posts district-wise; applicants need prescribed qualifications and TET certification

The Department of School Education, Karnataka, has issued separate notifications across educational districts for the recruitment of 900 general Kannada teachers. The teachers will be appointed to teach students in primary schools from classes 1 to 5.

Applicants who meet the prescribed educational qualifications and have cleared the required Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) can apply for the posts. The recruitment notification has been issued district-wise, with details available through the department's online portal at schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in.

Candidates must have secured atleast 50% marks in PUC to be eligible. The required qualification can include a 2-year diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed), a 4-year bachelor of elementary education (B.El.Ed), or a 2-year diploma in education (special education).

To apply for the Karnataka teacher recruitment 2026, follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of the Department of School Education, Karnataka at schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in or CACELL page at schooleducation.karnataka.gov.in/cacell
  • Check the notification regarding recruitment of general Kannada teachers 2026 in their respective educational districts
  • Click on the respective district-wise notification and check the eligibility criteria
  • Click on the online application link and enter all the information
  • Upload all the documents, pay the application fee (if applicable) and then submit
  • Download the submitted application form and take a printout for future reference

Along with the educational qualification, applicants must have qualified the TET conducted by either the State Government or the Central Government. The eligible tests include the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
