Karunya University earns World Book of Records UK recognition as 7,000 students pay tribute to teachers

Students formed a giant human display and signed appreciation cards within 60 seconds to honour teachers on World Teachers’ Day.
Karunya University, Coimbatore, has entered the World Book of Records, United Kingdom (UK), for bringing together 7,000 students for the largest synchronised tribute to teachers on World Teachers’ Day.
The students formed a giant human display carrying the message “KARUNYA’S TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS”. They also signed specially designed appreciation cards within sixty seconds to express their gratitude to the teachers.
The event was organised through the joint efforts of Karunya University, its Rotaract Club and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The initiative highlighted the importance of respecting teachers and acknowledging their contribution to education and society.

Karunya University marks 40 years with record
Reacting to the milestone, Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor and Founder, Karunya University, said, “Teachers are the architects who shape lives, inspire dreams and build generations. This world record is not merely a recognition for Karunya University, but a heartfelt tribute from thousands of students to every teacher who has made a difference in their lives.”
The chancellor also added that this tribute is a special way to thank teachers and will be remembered as a significant event in Karunya University's forty-year journey. The World Book of Records, UK, certificate was presented by Ankita Shah, Chartered Officer at the organisation, to the Karunya University leadership.
The university described the achievement as a celebration of gratitude, unity and collective participation. The tribute also formed part of its forty-year journey, reflecting its focus on community engagement and educational values.
