KEA checked Kalyana Karnataka cadre August 2 written exam time; selection process

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has changed the exam timings for the August 2 written test. As per the new schedule, the afternoon exam will now be conducted from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Earlier, it was scheduled from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.

The authority took the decision after receiving multiple requests from applicants regarding travel between examination centres. This exam is being conducted for the recruitment of civil police constable posts under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre.

The official KEA’s X post reads, “In this context, considering the interests of the candidates, the time has been changed, and the examination will be conducted from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. The remaining morning examinations will be conducted as scheduled. There will be no changes to this.”

This year, a total of 3,991 posts are available. Out of which 3,395 posts are for the residual parent cadre and 596 posts are reserved under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre.

KSP Civil Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Exam pattern

The Karnataka state police constable recruitment written exam will contain 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. There will be negative marking. The exam will be held in offline mode using OMR-based answer sheets. Applicants will get 90 minutes to finish the exam.

The exam will cover subjects such as general knowledge, general science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the Indian national movement, mental ability, general studies and moral education.

For the candidates who have applied for the residual parent cadre, which includes general/mikkilida vacancies, the exam will be conducted in the morning session from 10:30 am to 12 noon.

Selection process

The selection process for this recruitment includes three stages, which includes the written examination, physical standard test (PST) and endurance test (ET). The selection of the applicants in the physical test will be done in a 1:2 ratio.
