NEW DELHI JUNE 21- Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala has announced the rank list of KEAM. Candidates can view the rank list in online mode by clicking on the link given on the official website. Based on the rank list candidates will be eligible to participate in the counselling session for allotment of seats in the participating institutes. Out of 58,268 candidates qualified in the Engineering Entrance Examination, 46,686 candidates have submitted their marks in the second year of the Qualifying Examination to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The authority has used the standardization procedure to prepare the rank list.

The authorities have prepared the rank list by calculating the average marks secured in KEAM 2018 and 12 standards in the ratio of 50:50. Equal weightage has been given to the scores obtained both in entrance exam and qualifying examination for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

What if two candidates scored same marks?

In case two or candidates obtained same marks, mentioned below procedure will be followed to break the tie.

  • Step 1- The candidates with higher marks in Mathematics in entrance exam will be placed higher; If a tie still exists, step 2 will be taken into consideration
  • Step 2- The candidates who get higher marks in Physics will be given preference; If a tie still exists, step 3 will be consider
  • Step 3- With higher standardized marks in Mathematics of class 12 will be given a higher ranking; If a tie still exists, step 4 will be consider
  • Step 4- Candidates with higher standardized marks in Physics during class 12 examinations will be given higher rank, and if a tie still exists, step 5 will be taken into consideration
  • Step 5- Age will be taken into consideration lastly. Candidate who is older in age will be ranked higher.

Key highlights of KEAM Rank List

  • The rank list will be prepared by calculating the marks secured in entrance exam (Paper I and Paper II) and the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics obtained during class 12 examination in the ratio of 50:50.
  • It carries application number, name, and rank of the candidate.
  • If a candidate has not studied Chemistry in class 12, then the marks obtained in Computer Science will taken into consideration. Further, if both these subjects have not been studied by the candidate, then Biotechnology will be taken into consideration. Above all, if all the three subjects have not been studied, then Biology will be considered.
  • For a candidate to participate in counselling session, it is mandatory for him/her to appear in the rank list.

Rank list released, what next?

As the rank list is published, candidates will now have to participate in the counselling process for seat allotment. The authorities will conduct the counselling tentatively from the last week of June 2018. All the candidates whose name have appeared in rank list will be eligible to participate in counselling session. To participate in counselling, candidates will have to to register themselves online or at the Facilitation Centres (FC).
