NEW DELHI: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has released the admission schedule for the academic session 2025-26. As per the schedule, the online registration for Class 1 and Balvatika levels 1, 2, and 3 from tomorrow, March 7, 2025, at kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in. The last date to apply for the Balvatika 1, 2, 3 and Class 1 is March 21, 2025.
The first provisional lists of Class 1 selected and waitlisted registered candidates will be released on March 25, while the list for Balvatika admissions will be published on March 26. If seats remain vacant, the second list will be declared on April 2, followed by a third list on April 7.
The registration window for admission to Balvatika 2 and Class 2 onwards, except Class 11 students, will be open from April 2 to April 11 in offline mode. For Class 11 admissions, Kendriya Vidyalaya students can register within 10 days after the declaration of Class 10 results. The admission list will be displayed within 20 days of the result announcement.
KVS Admission 2025: Age criteria
The minimum age for KVS admission to Class 1 is six years, with age reckoning for all classes as of March 31, 2025. For Balvatika admissions, the age criteria as of March 31, 2025, are 3 to 4 years for Balvatika 1, 4 to 5 years for Balvatika 2, and 5 to 6 years for Balvatika 3. The minimum and maximum age limit for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas in various classes is given below:
- Class 1: 6 years but less than 8 years
- Class 2: 7 years but less than 9 years
- Class 3: 8 years but less than 10 years
- Class 4: 9 years but less than 11 years
- Class 5: 9 years but less than 11 years
- Class 6: 10 years but less than 12 years
- Class 7: 11 years but less than 13 years
- Class 8: 12 years but less than 14 years
- Class 9: 13 years but less than 15 years
- Class 10: 14 years but less than 16 years
As per the official notice, for KVS admission in Class 1, 25% of the available seats for fresh admission will be reserved under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. 15% of the seats will be reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 27% for Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL).
