Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan announces 4 new KVs in Jammu-Kashmir, Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the opening of four new KVs in Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the academic session 2026-27. It will be established to expand the access to centrally administered school education, according to an official notification.

In December 2025 and October 2025, the government gave approval for these schools in separate order, under which more than 100 new KVs were sanctioned across the country.

“The new KVs schools include Kendriya Vidyalaya Gool in Ramban district (Jammu and Kashmir), Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 Darbhanga (AIIMS) in Bihar, Kendriya Vidyalaya Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, and Kendriya Vidyalaya Madan Negi in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand,” the official circular reads.

Admission process in new KVs to begin soon

The classes at the new KV schools are expected to begin in the academic session 2026-27 after the formalities of land transfer, availability of temporary accommodation are completed.

“The Kendriya Vidyalaya will start functioning from class 1 to 5 (single section in each class) and thereafter will grow consequently based on feasibility as per approval. The admission process may be completed within 30 days after completion of all pending formalities of taking-over of land and temporary accommodation, if any,” it said.

In Bihar and UP, the schools at Darbhanga and Shamli will begin from Balvatika 1 to 3 along with Classes 1 to 5. The KVs in Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir will start from Classes 1 to 5.

“All four institutions will function from designated temporary campuses, including government school premises, until permanent infrastructure is developed,” the circular said.
