KIIT to provide job, education to victims’ families of Odisha train accident

Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT made the announcement to provide job and free education to the family members of the deceased of the Odisha accident.

NEW DELHI: The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) deemed-to-be-university has decided to provide job to one of the family members of the deceased of Balasore, Odisha train accident and free education to the children.

The announcement of the decision has been made by Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder KIIT and KISS. While making the announcement, he stated, “We can’t reduce the sorrow of the family members of those who died in the train accident, but we will try our level best to support them."

"We will try to support the victims’ families by offering a job to one member from each family at KIIT and KISS as per their eligibility and provide free education to their kids at KIIT and KISS as per their eligibility from standard one up to higher level. We will inform them how to apply for the job as well as free education”, Dr Achyuta Samanta added.

The Odisha train accident in Bahanaga, Balasore district happened on June 2 where around 288 people died.

Dr Samanta also thanked and praised the effort of the local people for their immediate response in saving the lives of the people. He also appreciated the effort of the Odisha government and chief minister Naveen Patnaik to save the lives of thousands of people in the accident.

"KIIT & KISS pray for the departed souls who died in the accident and convey sympathies to the family members. This support will provide assistance to the families of the victims and ensure a brighter future for their children”, he further added.
