NEW DELHI: The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed-to-be-University has received 'A' grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its first cycle of accreditation. The university is the first in the country to achieve this milestone during its first NAAC accreditation attempt.
In 2017, the Ministry of Education offered KISS deemed-to-be-university status in recognition of its contributions to education. The NAAC's accreditation of KISS University as a 'A' grade institution reflects the university's commitment to academic achievement and educational quality.
Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS, said, “Happy to announce KISS Deemed to be University got NAAC A grade in its first cycle since 2017 recognition of DU status. A unique feat, adding to accolades like the UNESCO Literacy Prize 2022. This marks an academic pinnacle for our fully free, residential school for tribal children”
Importance of NAAC accreditation
NAAC accreditation serves as an assurance of quality education. It evaluates various aspects of an institution including teaching-learning processes, infrastructure, research, governance, and student support services. Accreditation signifies that the institution meets predefined quality benchmarks set by NAAC.
Accreditation by NAAC enhances the credibility and reputation of the university both nationally and internationally. It serves as an endorsement of the institution's academic standards and excellence, which can attract students, faculty, and collaborations with other institutions and organizations.
