NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the registrations for the Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2025. Eligible candidates can apply for NTA BET 2025 on the official website, dbtbet2025.ntaonline.in.

The last date to apply for the entrance exam is March 28, up to 5 pm. Applicants will be able to pay the exam fee till 11:50 pm. The BET 2025 application correction window will open on March 30.

NTA BET 2025 will be conducted on May 13, 2025 as a Computer-based Test (CBT) for the award of DBT – Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of biotechnology. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes or three hours. The exam timings will be 10 am to 1 pm. The medium of BET 2025 question paper will be English.

In order to apply, candidates belonging to the general, Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be required to pay Rs 1,300. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will have to make payment of Rs 650.

NTA BET 2025 eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for BET 2025 are as follows:

  • Bachelors (BE/ BTech/MBBS) and Masters (MSc/MTech/MVSc/MPharm/Integrated MSc/MTech) in any discipline of biotechnology, life sciences such as biomedical, bioinformatics, biochemistry,
  • biophysics, botany, chemistry, computational biology, genetics, microbiology, zoology or any other allied areas of biology/life sciences
  • Candidates admitted in any of the MSc/MTech/MVSc/MSc (Agri) programmes supported under the DBT postgraduate teaching programme will be eligible to apply. Candidates who are yet to appear in the final semester examination or awaiting result of final semester can also apply.
  • Students should have scored a minimum of 60% marks (for general, EWS and OBC category) and 55% marks (for SC, ST, differently-abled candidates) in aggregate or an equivalent grade.
  • The age limit is up to 28 years of age as on the last date of application. Age relaxation of up to 5 years (33 years) for SC/ ST/ differently-abled/ women candidates and up to 3 years (31 years) for OBC-NCL candidates.

BET 2025 Registration: Documents required

Applicants will need the following documents while filling the application form:

  • Date of Birth (as mentioned in Class 10 board certificate),
  • Aadhar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/PAN Number/ Other valid Govt. IDs,
  • Educational qualification details
  • Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background.
  • Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)
  • Scanned Class 10 or equivalent certificate as a proof of date of birth.
  • Scanned copy of certificate for appearing/ result awaiting candidates.
  • Bank account details for payment of fee.
