KJSIM, FPSB India collaborate to launch PGDM programme in financial planning

NEW DELHI: K J Somaiya Institute of Management Mumbai (KJSIM), along with FPSB India, the leading financial planning body in the country announced an executive PGDM programme in financial planning today, October 1. It is an 18-month dual qualification programme including the prestigious CFP (certified financial planner) certification. The programme is for students having at least three years of experience in financial services, the KJSIM statement said.

The collaboration aims to provide students with a globally recognized certification from FPSB India and a PGDM from KJSIM. The certification enables students to enhance their credentials in financial planning and equips them to meet the rising demand for skilled financial planning professionals in the global job markets, the KJSIM statement added.

The programme is open for graduates from any discipline from a recognized university with at least three years of work experience in financial services.

The launch event was attended by an advisory board including – Nilesh Shah CEO of Kotak AMC; Navneet Munot and MD and CEO, of HDFC AMC; A Balasubramanian, MD and CEO, of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC; Krishan Mishra, CEO, FPSB India; and former MD and CEO of Axis Securities, Arun Thukral, the programme director and professor of practice at KJSIM.

During the launch, the director of Raman Ramachandran, KJSIM said: The Indian economy is projected to reach a GDP of $7 trillion by 2030, with the number of millionaires set to double by 2026. This surge in wealth creation is driving a growing demand for skilled financial planners. Understanding this need, KJSIM is excited to launch an executive PGDM in financial planning in partnership with FPSB India, the KJSIM note added.

Krishan Mishra, CEO of FPSB India expressed his enthusiasm for the program and said: “As the financial planning profession evolves, it is imperative to equip professionals with the tools, knowledge, and credentials to thrive."

Arun Thukral the programme director said: “I am committed to leading a team of distinguished faculty members and industry professionals in spearheading our new programme with FPSB India. With the globally recognised gold standard CFP certification mark, the course structure emphasises hands-on projects and interactive learning.
