Macquarie University, TISS Hyderabad launch dual-degree MA in public policy, international relations

TISS Hyderabad’s dual-degree courses offer 30 seats and fee for first-year is Rs 4.10 lakh and 75% fee waiver on the course fee in the second-year; Admission open till May 13
Macquarie University Sydney and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Hyderabad have launched a two-year master of arts (MA) in public policy and international relations. The new MA course helps students gain interdisciplinary skills to solve global problems and offers a scholarship that covers 75% of second-year tuition fees.
According to the official press release, the admissions for the new programme are open till May 13. Candidates from all academic backgrounds can apply and selection will be based on a Statement of Purpose (SOP), followed by an online personal interview.
Upon completion, students will be awarded a dual degree in:
- MA in public policy and governance by TISS Hyderabad
- Master’s in International Relations by Macquarie University Sydney
The dual-degree programme offers 30 seats, and the fee for the first year is Rs 4.10 lakh, and 75% fee waiver on the course fee in the second-year.

As per the official press release, the MA in public policy and governance at TISS Hyderabad in the first-year will help students explore “theoretical insights and practical applications,” and includes two internships with external institutions.
The second-year master’s in international relations at Macquarie University Sydney will be supported by a scholarship covering 75% of the tuition fees and will offer insights into “global processes, regional dynamics, and international organisations”, preparing them to engage with rising global challenges.
Students will also be able to engage with faculty through weekly online interactive sessions held every Thursday.
“Jointly developed by academic experts from both institutions, the curriculum offers a comprehensive understanding of governance, institutional mechanisms, and global geopolitics. It is tailored to prepare graduates for impactful careers in public policy, diplomacy, research, multilateral organisations, and the development sector,” the official press release added.
Candidates can apply for the dual-degree course on the official website, apply.tiss.ac.in/global-admissions, before the given deadline.
