The Maharashtra Admission Regulating Authority (ARA) has formed a sub-committee to resolve admission-related grievances of students. Any complaint regarding admission can be filed before the Maharashtra ARA, and a decision will be given within 15 days or before the last date of admission.

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell conducts entrance tests and centralised admission processes (CAP) for various professional courses. However, during the entrance tests and admission process, many complaints are received from students, parents, or stakeholders at various stages.

Therefore, a grievance redressal committee is being formed to resolve issues related to the admission process.

"Any complaint regarding admission can be filed before the Authority and a decision will be taken on it within fifteen days and before the last date of admission," the official Maharashtra ARA statement reads.

SSPM Medical College: MBBS admission complaint

Recently, after a Dalit MBBS student complained about the admission denial and excessive fee demanded by the Sindhudurg Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (SSPM) Medical College, a committee was formed to probe the complaints.

The student who was shortlisted during the third round of counselling for MBBS admission alleged that the college asked him to pay around Rs 9 lakh, even though the college’s website showed only Rs 50,000 refundable caution money, and hostel and mess charges were reportedly made mandatory.

Following the inquiry conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Maharashtra ARA, the state CET Cell allowed the candidates to participate in the Maharashtra NEET UG 2025 stray round counselling 2025 for MBBS admissions.
