The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will begin the Maharashtra Board SSC exams 2026 today for over 15 lakh students. To pass the Maharashtra SSC exams 2026 students must secure atleast 35% marks in each main and optional subject.

MSBSHSE Board SSC exams 2026 will be held from February 20 to March 18 in two shifts. Students are advised to reach the exam centre atleast 30 mins before the exam begins, along with their admit card and school ID for verification purposes.
Maharashtra SSC 2026 first shift will be held from 11 am to 1 pm to 2 pm, depending upon the subject.
Each subject will carry 100 marks, distributed among theory and practical exams, and the final score will be calculated based on 20% weightage for the internal assessment and 80% for the final exam. SSC question paper will comprise of MCQs, very short answer questions, short answer questions and long answer questions.

Students appearing for the Maharashtra SSC exam can check the specific passing marks criteria that they need to secure in each type of subject shown in the table below.

Students appearing for the SSC exams without requesting exemptions or if they fall short of passing marks by 2-3 marks in one or more subjects will be granted condonation of marks.
However, students who are appearing with exemptions will be awarded an automatic condonation of 13 marks to pass the exam. The grace marks will be distributed based on the number of failed subjects, but under no circumstances will more than three marks be allotted to any one subject.

Furthermore, no grace marks will be awarded to students who fail in technical or other optional subjects. Maharashtra Board HSC exams 2026 have begun on February 10 and continue till March 11.
