Maharashtra SSC result 2021 to be declared by July 15, FYJC admissions through CET

NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad has announced that the Maharashtra SSC result 2021 will be released by July 15. The minister has also announced to conduct an optional Common Entrance Test (CET) for Class 10 students. The CET exam will be conducted for students who wish to get admission to First-Year Junior Colleges (FYJC). The decision to conduct CET came in light of the cancellation of Maharashtra Board SSC exam.

The official tweet read, “For uniformity and comparability in #FYJC admissions and to ensure fair play for students across all boards, the state government will conduct a CET for all Std 10th students on an OPTIONAL basis around July-end or August first week.”

The minister further informed that students who have given the CET will be preferred for FYJC admissions based on their CET scores. “After their admissions, students who did not give CET will be offered admissions based on their evaluation as per the internal assessment in Std 10th,” she added.

The CET is an entirely optional exam for Class 10 students and will be based on the Class 10 state board curriculum. Also, since students have already paid the exam fee for the cancelled SSC board exams, there is no application fee for the CET exam. However, students from other boards will have to pay the fee to sit in the entrance exam.

The online application link to apply for the entrance test and the list of the exam centres will be made available after the declaration of Maharashtra SSC result 2021, around July 15 at Maharashtra board official website 2021. However, the details regarding the likely CET timing and the exam format are being shared to help aspirants prepare in the best possible way.

Also, the marks obtained in the CET exam will be applicable for admissions to all junior colleges affiliated to the state board and will be organised by the board or the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations under the supervision of the Education Commissioner.
