Maharashtra TET 2024 registration begins on mahatet.in; eligibility, application fee

NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune has begun the registration process for the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) 2024. Eligible candidates can fill out the Maharashtra TET 2024 application form through the official website, mahatet.in. The last date to register for the Maharashtra TET 2024 is September 30.

As per the official schedule, the Maharashtra TET 2024 exam will be held on November 10. The exam will have two papers. The TET paper 1 will take place from 10.30 am to 1 pm and paper 2 will be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. To teach Classes 1 to 5, candidates must qualify paper I, while passing paper 2 is required to teach Classes 6 to 8. The council will issue the Maharashtra TET 2024 admit card on October 28.

Candidates from the SC and ST categories for the Maharashtra TET will need to pay Rs 700 for each paper or Rs 900 for both papers. Handicapped candidates (with 40% or more disability) are required to pay Rs 700 per paper or Rs 900 for both. Candidates from OBC, EWS, SEBC, open category, SBC, NT-B, C, D, VJA, and TA categories must pay Rs 1,000 for one paper or Rs 1,200 for both papers.

Maharashtra TET 2024: Eligibility criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for the Maharashtra TET 2024 paper 1, 2 given below.

  • For Paper 1, which is intended for primary classes, candidates must have completed Class 12 and hold a Diploma in Education (DEd) or a Bachelor of Education (BEd).

  • For Paper 2, aimed at upper-primary classes, candidates need to have completed Class 12 and hold a graduation degree, along with a DEd or BEd.

  • For those wishing to qualify in both Paper 1 and Paper 2, the requirements include having completed Class 12 and a graduation degree, with a DEd or BEd as the mandatory professional qualification.
