MSCE considered the requests for change in dress code after concerns were raised by female students; Maharashtra TET 2026 paper 1 and 2 will be held in two shifts

After concerns were raised about the dress code for female candidates appearing for the Maharashtra TET 2026, the State Council of Examination (MSCE) clarified that women candidates can wear a hijab, burqa, or dupatta during the exam, ensuring that their face remains fully visible.
MSCE considered the requests after concerns were raised by female students. However, as per the revised Maharashtra TET guidelines, the area above the neck, specifically the ears, head, and face, must remain uncovered.
As per Maharashtra TET 2026 exam day guidelines, candidates must arrive at the examination center well in advance, taking into account potential last-minute issues such as traffic problems, protests, rallies, or heavy rainfall. Under no circumstances will candidates be granted entry after the designated time.
Apart from the prescribed dress code, candidates will not be permitted to wear shoes or socks inside the examination hall.

The council also stated that similar face visibility guidelines are implemented in several national and state-level recruitment examinations, including those conducted by UPSC, SSC, IBPS, SBI, RRB, MPSC, GPSC, and BPSC.
Maharashtra TET 2026 is scheduled on June 28. Students appearing for TET Paper 1 must reach the exam centre at 8 am, and for Paper 2 at 12:30 pm.
