Mahindra University launches School of Law; offers integrated LLB courses

NEW DELHI: Mahindra University has launched a new School of Law (MU-SoL) starting from the session 2021-22. After the launch of Ecole Centrale School of Engineering and the School of Management , this is the third new school set up by the university.

Currently, the School of Law offers two programmes - the five-year integrated BBA LLB (Hons) and BA LLB (Hons). Each programme has a total of 60 seats.

Sridhar Acharyulu, an academician and former Central Information Commissioner (CIC), has been selected as the dean of the School of Law.

Acharyulu is a writer and has published 48 books on law and journalism in English and Telugu. Previously, he was a professor at the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) and registrar at NALSAR University. He has also published 100 research articles and thousands of newspaper articles, as per the Mahindra University statement.

“MU-SoL aspires to send its graduated students to various corporate houses, judiciary and leading law firms at the end of successful completion of their 5 years integrated course,” the statement from Mahindra University added.

Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University said: “We are happy to announce the setting up of Mahindra University’s School of Law...It is a pleasure to have Sridhar Acharyulu on board as its founder Dean and together with the MU School of Law faculty, we will make a real difference in legal education in years to come.”

Besides launching professional courses in the field of management, law and education, the university also plans to set up schools of liberal arts, applied sciences, and design in 2022.
