Meghalaya schools shut on December 12; MBOSE Class 11 practical exam rescheduled

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has declared a school holiday on December 12. MBOSE has rescheduled the practical exam for Class 11, which was scheduled on December 12, to December 15.

The state government has declared a holiday on account of the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma, who was a freedom fighter and fought against the British with the help of other warriors.

“It is hereby informed to all concerned that, since December 12 is a state holiday, the Class 11 Internal/Promotion Practical Examination, 2025-2026, which was scheduled to be held on this day, shall now be held on December 15,” the official MBOSE notice read.

MBOSE has also announced the Meghalaya board Class 10, 12 exam dates 2026. The board will conduct the MBOSE Class 10th board exams 2026 from January 30 to February 11. The Meghalaya board Class 12th 2026 exams are scheduled from February 18 to March 13.

According to the MBOSE schedule, the Class 10 and 12 board exams 2026 will take place from 10 am to 1 pm, while theory papers for vocational courses will last only one hour, from 10 am to 11 am.

Students will be allowed to enter exam halls from 9:30 am, half an hour before the test begins. They must bring their hall ticket and student ID for verification. Invigilators will hand out the MBOSE question papers at 9:45 am and distribute the answer booklets at 9:50 am, giving students 10 minutes to read the paper before starting.
