Around 32,000 seats are available in the MCC NEET PG round 2 counselling, as per the seat matrix notified by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under clear and virtual vacancies. A total of 2,620 new seats have been added in the NEET PG seat matrix for round 2. The MCC also informed candidates that NEET PG round 2 choice filling link is now open on mcc.nic.in.
The MCC opened the application portal for NEET PG round 2 counselling on December 5. Candidates who have not been allotted seats in the first round or wish to apply afresh for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats will have to submit their application online by December 9.
As per the NEET PG seat matrix 2025, there are 17,623 seats available under clear vacancy and 11,837 under virtual vacancy in addition to 2,620 newly added seats. Seats under virtual vacancy are held by candidates in round 1 who may upgrade their seats in the subsequent rounds.
The NEET PG round 2 choice filling will be available up to 11.55 pm on December 9, and choice locking will begin from 4 pm on December 9 to 11.55 pm on the same day. Based on the preferences submitted by candidates, the MCC will declare the round seat allotment results on December 12.
Seat allotted candidates will have to report at the medical college for document verification. In the first round, 26,889 candidates were allotted seats in clinical and non-clinical courses. MD General Medicine is the most preferred course among toppers. MD Radiodiagnosis and Obstetrics and Gynaecology were the other popular choices in round 1.
Among colleges, PGIMER- Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Government Medical College Kozhikode, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Bangalore Medical College and Madras Medical College were the top picks.
