NEET PG 2025 round 2 counselling starts today; MCC exempts round 1 candidates from fresh registration

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the registrations for NEET PG round 2 counselling 2025 today. Candidates who registered for round 1 MCC NEET PG counselling and were not admitted are not required to register again on the official website, mcc.nic.in.

At the end of round 1, a total of 26,889 candidates were allotted MD, MS, or PG diploma clinical or non-clinical seats. Nine out of the top 10 candidates opted for MD General Medicine, with PGIMER- Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi being the popular choice.

The remaining candidates got MD Radiodiagnosis and Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Government Medical College Kozhikode, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Bangalore Medical College and Madras Medical College.

Candidates who have not registered for round 1 will have to submit fresh registration for round 2 counselling along with full payment of fees. General and EWS candidates are required to pay Rs 1,000 and SC, ST, OBC, and PwD will have to deposit Rs 500 as registration fee.

Fresh choices will have to be filled for round 2 by all candidates. Those who have resigned or not reported in round 1 are not required to register again.

According to the seat conversion policy after round 2, all PwD seats will be converted to their corresponding categories, and ST seats will be converted to SC seats. The remaining seats for SC, EWS, NRI, Jain minority, and Muslim minority will be converted to UR seats in round 3.

MCC NEET PG 2025 round 2 counselling: Guidelines

NEET PG-qualified candidates have been instructed to follow the guidelines set by the MCC for All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

  • If a candidate is allotted a seat or upgraded in round 2, they must take relieving from the round 1 seat and join the college allotted in the latest round.
  • If a candidate has freshly registered in round 2 and is not allotted a seat will be allowed to participate in the subsequent round without registering again.
  • Those getting upgraded in round 2 will not be eligible to claim the round 1 allotted seat.
  • Those freshly allotted in round 2 will have an option to opt for upgradation, however, they will have to physically report at the allotted college.
