MCC to release schedule for the NEET SS counselling after SC orders to fill vacant seats within 15 days and include NEET in-service candidates.

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court directs Tamil Nadu government to allocate 50% of seats in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS ) counselling to in-service candidates. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) issues a notice regarding the matter on MCC's official website- mcc.nic.in.
According to the Supreme Court order, the state of Tamil Nadu has been permitted to fill seats reserved within a period of 15 days. The state will be required inform the Union of India about the the unfilled seats in service category. Such seats will be permitted to be filled in by the Union of India, on the basis of All India merit list.

In view of this order, MCC has decided to open choice filling for NEET SS counselling round-1 according to the schedule that will uploaded on the MCC website soon. Candidates are informed that the seats from the in-service category that remain unfilled will be carried over to round-2 of SS counselling.
The choice filling for round-1 was delayed by 10 days for the court to reach a decision. The NEET SS counselling 2022 commenced as per schedule on November 22, 2022. However, the choice-filling for the counselling was put on hold. Previously, the choice filling for round-1 counselling was scheduled from November 25 to 28, 2022 while the results were to be announced on December 1, 2022.
