MCC NEET UG 2025 round 3 choice filling extended to October 18 after NMC corrects seat matrix error

The NEET UG choice filling facility for round 3 counselling will now be available until October 18 up to 11.55 pm. The decision to extend the facility was taken due to the addition of seats and approval of new medical colleges for the academic year 2025-26.
The choice locking link will be available from 4 pm to 11.55 pm on October 18. The MCC will auto-freeze the filled courses and colleges, if candidates fail to lock their choices in the order of preference.
The NEET UG seat matrix 2025 was revised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) around six times now.

'Error' in NEET UG MBBS seat matrix
As per the NMC notification dated October 16, a total of 11,500 new medical seats had been added in the NEET UG counselling, taking the total MBBS seats in India to 1,29,025 , up from 1,17,750 in 2024.
However, the latest revised MBBS seat matrix 2025 published by the NMC on October 17 showed an addition of 11,400 seats – a difference of 100 seats compared to previously displayed seat matrix – and removal of 456 seats.
“There were some typographical errors while updating the seat matrix with respect to Swaminarayan Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Gujarat and Viraat Ramayan Institute of Medical Sciences (New Establishment), which have been corrected now,” the NMC clarified.
As per the correction, 1,28,925 medical seats are available in India now.
