MDI Gurgaon appoints Prof. Atmanand as Director (Additional Charge)

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 9: Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon has appointed Prof. (Dr) Atmanand as Director (Additional Charge). Dr. Atmanand assumed the office on October 4, 2018. He has succeeded Dr. Himadri Das, who is currently the Director General at IMI, New Delhi. Prior to joining MDI Gurgaon, he was serving the Directorial position at MDI Murshidabad.

Prof. Atmanand has been associated with MDI Gurgaon for the last 20 years in variety of leadership roles. He has worked as Founder Dean of MDI School of Energy Management, Dean of Executive Post Graduate Programmes and School of Public Policy and Governance, Senior Dean & Senior Professor of Economics, In-charge Acting Director at MDI Gurgaon and Founder Dean at MDI Murshidabad. He has directed more than 90 training programs and MDPs. He was the PhD examiner and guided around 30 theses and dissertation work.

Sharing his insights for MDI Gurgaon Prof. (Dr.) Atmanand said, “Our strength lies in our innovative, learning-oriented teaching practices and contemporary industry-specific curriculum which is strongly backed-up by our sturdy corporate interface. Prof. Atmanand has also held various national responsibilities including his association as Member of the State Finance Commission¸ Government of Bihar and with the Planning Commission, Government of India. He serves an Independent Director on the Board of Central Bank of India and prior to that he has worked as the Independent Director on the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), Government of India. He is the recipient various awards such as Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Indian Achievers Award for Corporate Leadership 2010 and Economic Development Award for Excellence in Higher Education 2011.

He is an MA (Economics) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and done his M.Phil and PhD from JNU and Patna University respectively. Prof. Atmanand has also done Certificate Programmes from IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore respectively.
