Meghalaya TET 2021 application postponed; New dates to be announced soon

The DERT has postponed the release of Meghalaya TET application form 2021 till further notice.

NEW DELHI: Directorate of Educational Research and Training, Shillong has postponed the online application process for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET). The MTET application form 2021 was scheduled to be released today on the official website - megeducation.gov.in, as per the previous notice. As per the latest Meghalaya TET notice, “The online application of MTET 2021, scheduled to be started on June 10, 2021, is hereby deferred. The new dates of the online application will be intimated later.”

The MTET exam is scheduled to be conducted on August 28, 2021. Along with the MTET online application, other TET applications such as UPTET have also been postponed due to the pandemic. The online application is postponed to give a fair chance to every candidate.

Meghalaya TET Eligibility Criteria 2021

Candidates who are planning to fill the application form of MTET 2021 have to go through the detailed eligibility criteria of MTET 2021. Check the Meghalaya TET eligibility criteria for both the paper I and paper II below.

Nationality

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit:

  • The upper age limit for Meghalaya TET is 32 years

Educational Qualification

  • For Class 1 to 5: Candidates should have completed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years of BElEd.

  • For Class 6 to 8: Graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50% along with 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years of BElEd or Diploma in Special Education.

Note : In the education qualification, 5% relaxation will be provided to the reserved category candidates.

Meghalaya TET Exam Pattern

As per the MTET exam pattern, there will be two papers in the MTET exam. Paper - I is conducted for candidates who have applied for Class 1 to 5 and candidates who want to teach Class 6 to 8 have to appear in Paper-II. The exam will be conducted in offline mode. There will be 150 multiple-choice questions in both papers. Students will be awarded one mark for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
