MHRD Launched School Education Portal “ShaGun”, An Integrated Online Junction

NEW DELHI, August 29 : With the aim to showcase innovations in the school elementary education and continuous monitoring of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), MHRD has launched the 'ShaGun', an online monitoring website. The online portal connects more than 1.5 million schools, 9 million teachers and 250 million students to get information related to various schemes and policies available in government and government-aided schools.
Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' launched 'ShaGun’, one of the world’s largest online portal for school education, seshagun.gov.in . Discussing the benefits, the Minister stated that this platform helps people to give feedback about schools and will ensure transparency.
He further added, “The report cards of around 15 lakh schools all over the country will be available on this newly created online portal. This platform will benefit all the stakeholders, including parents, the heads of schools, teachers, students, policymakers, officials and researchers.
Besides, the website also offers important information related to the availability of nearby schools, navigable and aerial distance between schools that further helps the policymakers in making informed decisions. The Autonomous bodies like CBSE, NVS, KVS, NCERT, NIOS, NCTE and more play an important role in implementing and regulating the Government policies.
Through this online portal- ‘ShaGun’, parents/ students can check access the improvement and schemes implemented for school education from classes 1 to 12 across all States and Union Territories
