The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET) has announced the eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management Studies (MMS) for the academic year 2026-27 on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.

The eligibility criteria have been determined and provided for various categories of candidates. Those who fulfil the eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for the courses.

The Maharashtra State CET Cell has started the MAH CET 2026 counselling and CAP registration process for MBA, MMS, BTech and BE admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates can complete online registration from July 2 to July 12, while document verification will be conducted between July 3 and July 13.

The provisional merit list will be released on July 15, followed by the grievance submission window from July 16 to 18. The final merit list for admissions will be published on July 20.

MAH CET eligibility criteria for BE/BTech

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced the eligibility criteria for admission to Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses through the MAH CET 2026 counselling process.

The eligibility conditions have been issued for Maharashtra state candidates, All India candidates, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh migrant candidates, as well as non-Indian candidates.

BE/BTech eligibility criteria for Maharashtra state candidates

Candidates applying under the Maharashtra state category must be Indian citizens.

Applicants should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, a technical vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Electronics or Entrepreneurship.

Candidates must secure at least 45% marks in these subjects taken together. Reserved category, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates belonging to Maharashtra state are required to obtain a minimum of 40% marks.

The CET Cell said candidates should have appeared for all subjects in PCM MHT CET 2026 and obtained a non-zero score to become eligible for admission to all 29 major disciplines approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The authority also stated that candidates who appeared in PCB subjects in MHT CET 2026 can apply for selected engineering disciplines such as:

  • Agricultural Engineering
  • Biotechnology
  • Food Engineering
  • Leather Technology
  • Packaging Technology
  • Pharmaceutical Engineering
  • Printing Engineering
  • Fashion Technology
  • Textile Chemistry

Apart from Class 12 qualifications, candidates who have completed a minimum three-year diploma in engineering and technology with at least 45% marks are also eligible. Reserved category, EWS and PwD candidates from Maharashtra require a minimum of 40% marks.

Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma of Vocation (D.Voc.) in the same or allied sector can also apply.

BE/BTech eligibility criteria for all-India candidates

All India candidates must also be Indian citizens.

Candidates should have passed Class 12 with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the approved optional subjects and obtained at least 45% marks. Maharashtra reserved category candidates require 40% marks.

Applicants should obtain a non-zero positive score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) BE or BTech or appear for MHT CET 2026 and secure a non-zero score.

The CET Cell clarified that preference will be given to candidates with JEE Main scores over candidates who qualified only through MHT CET 2026.

Candidates with physics and chemistry along with biology or related subjects are eligible for specific disciplines, including biotechnology, food engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and textile chemistry through JEE Main, NEET or MHT CET PCB/PCMB scores.

Diploma holders with a minimum three-year engineering diploma and D.Voc. candidates in the same or allied sector are also eligible for admission.

BE/BTech eligibility criteria for non-Indian candidates

Non-Indian candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one approved optional subject and secured at least 45% marks.

Candidates with physics and chemistry along with biology or mathematics are eligible for selected disciplines such as biotechnology, agricultural engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, fashion technology and textile chemistry.

The CET Cell said admissions will also be subject to additional rules and conditions issued by the competent authority from time to time.

MAH CET 2026 MBA, MMS eligibility criteria

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced the eligibility criteria for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management Studies (MMS) programmes through the MAH CET 2026 counselling process.

The eligibility conditions have been released for Maharashtra state candidates, all-India candidates and non-Indian candidates.

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra state candidates

Candidates applying under the Maharashtra state category must be Indian citizens.

Applicants should have passed a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree awarded by a university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in any discipline.

Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade. Reserved category, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates belonging to Maharashtra state are required to obtain a minimum of 45% marks.

The CET Cell said candidates should also obtain a non-zero score in MAH MBA/MMS CET 2026 conducted by the competent authority.

Eligibility criteria for all-India candidates

All India candidates must also be Indian citizens and should have completed a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree from a university recognised by the UGC or AIU.

Candidates are required to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade. Reserved category, EWS and PwD candidates from Maharashtra state are eligible with 45% marks.

Apart from educational qualifications, candidates must secure a non-zero positive score in any one of the following entrance examinations:

  • MAH MBA/MMS CET 2026
  • Common Admission Test (CAT)
  • Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)
  • Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)
  • AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA)
  • Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

The CET Cell said scores obtained in these national-level management entrance examinations will be considered for MBA and MMS admissions under the All India category.

Non-Indian candidates should have passed a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree from a university recognised by the UGC or AIU in any discipline.

Candidates are required to obtain at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent qualification.

The CET Cell said admissions for non-Indian candidates will also be subject to additional rules, eligibility conditions and requirements issued by the competent authority from time to time.
