Road ministry offers internships to BTech, MTech students; application via AICTE portal

NEW DELHI: The ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH) is offering internships in National Highway projects to the final year BTech and MTech civil engineering students of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and government and private engineering colleges across the country.

Candidates can apply for the engineering internship by the road transport and highway ministry through the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) internship portal at internship.aicte-india.org. Candidates should do the AICTE internship registration before July 15, 2022. The minimum duration of the internship is 3 months. Through the internship, the interns will be made to learn by working in a practical environment.

AICTE Internship 2022: Know eligibility, stipend

  • To be eligible to apply for the civil engineering internship, a student must score a CGPA of 7.0 or 70 percent marks in the previous semesters for which the result has been published.
  • The ministry will provide a stipend of Rs 10,0001 per month to BTech interns
  • MTech interns will receive Rs 15,0001 per month as a stipend.
  • Appropriate stay and transportation facility will also be provided to the interns by the ministry to the interns.

A mid-term evaluation and final evaluation will be conducted as part of the internship. Those who successfully complete the internship will receive a certificate.

Candidates who get selected for the internship will be allotted to different implementing agencies under the MoRTH such as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and State Public Works Departments (PWDs),
