MP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: MPESB announces 7,500 vacancies; registration from September 22

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has published the MP Police Constable Recruitment 2026 notification for 7,500 Constable (General Duty) posts. The online application process will commence on September 22. Eligible candidates can apply for the MP Police Constable recruitment 2026 through the official MPESB website till October 6, 2026.

The MP Police recruitment is for Constable GD posts under the Special Armed Force (SAF) and Non-SAF cadres.

Of the total 7,500 vacancies, 700 posts are for Constable GD in the Special Armed Force, which are open to male candidates only. The remaining 6,800 posts are for Constable GD excluding SAF, for which both male and female candidates can apply.

MP Police Constable Notification 2026: Eligibility criteria

Candidates applying for the MP Police Constable recruitment must meet the prescribed age and educational qualification requirements.

The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age is 33 years for male candidates belonging to the MP unreserved/EWS category and candidates from other states.

The maximum age limit is 38 years for female candidates across categories and for male candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories in Madhya Pradesh, among other specified groups. Additional age relaxations are available for eligible candidates under the recruitment rules.

For educational qualifications, candidates from the unreserved, SC and OBC categories should have passed Class 10 under the 10+2 system or higher secondary or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. ST candidates are required to have passed Class 8 or an equivalent examination.

MP Police Constable 2026 selection process

The selection process will include a written examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and document verification.

The written examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. It will carry 100 marks, with 100 objective-type questions to be attempted in two hours. The question paper will be available in Hindi and English. There will be no negative marking.

The written exam will cover General Knowledge and Reasoning for 40 marks, Intellectual Ability and Mental Aptitude for 30 marks, and Science and Simple Arithmetic for 30 marks.

Candidates qualifying in the written examination will have to appear for the physical tests and document verification conducted by the Police Department.

MP Police Constable 2026 physical test

The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 100 marks. It will include an 800-metre race, long jump and shot put, carrying 40, 30 and 30 marks, respectively.

Candidates will have to secure at least 30% marks in the PET to qualify. The prescribed shot put weight is 7.26 kg for men and 4 kg for women. Relaxed physical standards will apply to eligible Home Guard and ex-servicemen candidates.

Shortlisted candidates for document verification will have to produce their original certificates. The final merit list will be prepared using the normalised scores of the written examination along with PET marks, as per the recruitment details.
