The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has postponed the MP State Eligibility Test (MP SET 2025) exam. The MP SET 2025 exam was originally scheduled to be held on January 11, 2026.

The commission cites unavoidable reasons for the MP SET 2025 exam postponement. The new date for the examination will be announced separately.

“Due to unavoidable reasons, the said examination is hereby postponed. The new date for the examination will be announced separately. All other conditions mentioned in the advertisement shall remain unchanged,” the official notice said.

The MP SET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the position of assistant professor in universities and colleges of Madhya Pradesh.

The last date to apply for MP SET 2025 online was November 20, 2025. Candidates were allowed to make corrections in their application forms between October 30 and November 22, 2025.

MP SET 2025 exam pattern

The MP SET 2025 will be conducted in offline mode. The exam will have two papers. Paper 1, which is compulsory for all candidates, will focus on the general paper on teaching and research aptitude. It will have 50 questions carrying a total of 100 marks.

Paper 2 will cover the selected elective subject of the candidate. It includes 100 questions with a total of 200 marks. The combined duration for both papers will be three hours, and the total marks for the examination will be 300.

MP SET 2025: Qualifying marks

To qualify for the MP SET 2025, candidates in the General category will have to secure a minimum of 40% marks, while those belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories are required to obtain at least 35% marks.
