Mumbai kids bag 15th State-Level UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition 2019

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 16: Aarush Raju Gupta, 11 years-old, Pet Oxford (Ulhasnagar) has been awarded as Junior Champion of Champions along with a cash price of Rs. 11,000 and Muskan Sunil Teckchandani, 10 years-old, Gurunanak English High School (Kalyan) has been awarded as Senior Champion of Champions along with a cash price of Rs. 30,000 at the 15th State-Level UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition 2019 held on Sunday i.e. 13th January, 2019 at World Trade Center, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The competition was organized by CBS Education Private Limited.
In the competition around 4000+ students across 10 districts of Maharashtra namely Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Palghar between the age group of 4-14 years had participated.
In this competition students had to solve 200 mathematics questions in just eight minutes depending on the students’ level, using only an abacus or mental arithmetic.
The prize distribution ceremony was held yesterday, i.e. on 15th of January, 2019 at Pracharya B N Vaidya Sabhagriha, Dadar East in the presence of Chief Guest Chris Chew, Executive Director of UC International Corporation (Malaysia) and Chief Guest of Honour Dr. Vijaynarayan R. Pandit, Trustee of Agarwal College and General Secretary of L.D. Sonawane College, Kalyan.
While speaking about the competition, Chandrakant Mishra, one of the directors of CBS Education Pvt. Ltd said, “We believe in developing a healthy competitive spirit among the children while creating opportunities and platform to bring out their talent. Our aim is to find abacus genius by organizing such competitions.”
Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) is an international educational organization globally recognized as a leader in whole brain development and mental arithmetic training, which runs all over India and abroad. It trains children of 4-14 years in arithmetic and enhances skills like concentration, creativity, listening and photographic memory.
