Mumbai University launches its first online program in Hindi, Marathi

NEW DELHI: Mumbai University has launched two Master of Arts programmes in public relations and communications and journalism in online and blended learning format in partnership with upGrad. The programme will be available in both Hindi and Marathi.

This is the first time that the online platform upGrad is offering courses in a vernacular language for higher education.

The programme will have 15-hours of classes per week with both live and recorded lectures from Mumbai University faculty and industry leaders.

Arjun Mohan, chief executive officer for upGrad India, said:“This collaboration intends to disrupt the educational stereotypes associated with the eLearning model and make prestigious degrees accessible to all along with affordability and flexibility.”

“Through our strategic alliance with Mumbai University, we aim to assist aspiring learners with accurate program guidance, updated academia, and steadfast placement support, thereby contributing towards the government’s mission of doubling the country’s college and university enrolment to reach 50% by 2035,” Mohan added.

The first batches of the programmes are scheduled to commence from December 31. The programmes also reserve seats for specially-abled learners.
