Mumbai University has mandated that students arrive at least 30 minutes before the commencement of any exam, ensuring that verification and seating arrangements are completed on time

The University of Mumbai’s (MU) board of examinations and evaluation, management council, and academic council have announced that it is mandatory for students to be present in the exam hall at least 30 minutes before all exams conducted from the academic year 2026-27 onwards.
According to the MU’s new directive, it is mandatory that teachers and university officials verify the students' identity cards, manage seating arrangements, and other examination procedures before the test or exam starts.
Therefore, students appearing for the MU exams 2026-27 must report to the exam hall at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time. Mumbai University has also announced dates for various semester exams, including PhD and MSc courses.

In the notice, MU has directed all principals, directors, and heads, and department heads, to bring the rules to the attention of all students appearing for exams in their Mumbai University-affiliated colleges and institutions, as well as the teachers and exam staff. All teachers should ensure strict and immediate implementation of the order.
“Examinees must follow the university's examination rules and instructions and extend the necessary cooperation to the officers and staff in the Exam Hall to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations,” MU said in its official notice.
For example, if the exam is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am, examinees should be in the exam hall by 10 am.
Students who have opted for distance and online education for MSc Computer Science can check the practical exam dates and timings for semester 3 shown in the table below.

Additionally, MU will hold PhD Entrance Test (PET) exams on September 19 and September 20. Earlimer, MU postponed the exams in July due to heavy monsoon rains, severe waterlogging, and IMD weather warnings across Mumbai.
