The Kanpur-based university announced a U-CARE Scheme during a workshop on “NIRF and NAAC Assessment for Improving Academic Quality in Colleges” to promote accreditation culture in colleges.

The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) has announced a U-CARE scheme under which an incentive of Rs 15,000 will be given to the first 25 colleges to apply for NAAC accreditation. The objective of the scheme is to promote an accreditation culture in colleges, and motivate institutions to prepare and improve quality in the long term.
As part of the University College Accreditation, Review and Excellence Scheme (U-CARES), the first 25 affiliated colleges applying for NAAC accreditation will receive an incentive of Rs 15,000, according to an official statement.
The announcement was made today during a workshop on NIRF and NAAC, organised by the CSJMU.
The workshop was conducted on “NIRF and NAAC Assessment for Improving Academic Quality in Colleges”, under the joint auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the College Development Council.
Highlighting the importance of the NAAC and NIRF accreditation process, preparation, documentation, and institutional coordination, Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, director, IQAC, urged affiliated colleges to take concrete steps towards quality enhancement and prioritize NAAC accreditation and NIRF ranking.
Vinay Kumar Pathak, vice chancellor, director of College Development Council said: “The identity of any higher education institution is determined by its academic quality, research, innovation, student progress, transparent governance, and social responsibility. I urge colleges to make quality assurance a permanent part of their work culture.”
The CSJMU-led workshop on NIRF and NAAC witnessed participation from principals, IQAC coordinators, and teachers from affiliated colleges across the city.
